Drymen Reporter
The Drymen Community Newspaper Association aka The Drymen Reporter was originally formed to be linked to the Community Council but is now entirely independent from any organisation.
The ‘Drymen Reporter’ is published 4 times a year in March, June, September, and December and 400 copies are distributed free of charge to all households within the 30mph zone. A further 100 free copies are also available from the library and local shops.
The aims of the Drymen Reporter are:
a) To provide a means of informing the Drymen community of local events and matters of interest or concern, without political, religious or other prejudice.
b) To provide a means of communication for the community.
c) To allow local people to participate in a newspaper which is primarily about their own community.
d) To promote a feeling of community.
e) To entertain and be read.
The ‘Reporter’ is commercially printed but, otherwise, it is produced and delivered entirely by a small team of volunteers and funded mainly by paid adverts for local businesses.
Articles and photographs of local interest are always welcome. The current rates for advertising are £40, £80 and £160 for quarter, half and full-page colour ads respectively.
